Organizers of the United Farm Workers' "March for the Governor's Signature" from Merced to Sacramento announced the route and schedule for the 150-mile, 10-day trek aimed at seeking Gov. Gray Davis' signature on SB 1736, a UFW-sponsored bill granting field laborers mediation and arbitration to win their first union contracts with growers.

Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002--Merced to Livingston
9 a.m. mass, 9:30 a.m. march starts, both at Courthouse Park, corner of "M" and 21st streets (east of Hwy. 99) in Merced.
5 p.m. end of day's march at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1505 "E" St. (at 4th St. west of Hwy. 99) in Livingston.
5-6 p.m. parade through Livingston streets.
6 p.m. rally at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1505 "E" St. (at 4th St. west of Hwy. 99) in Livingston.

After Thursday, the march's daily schedule will be 7 a.m. mass; 7:30 a.m. march begins; 5 p.m. march concludes for the day; 5-6 p.m. parade through streets of the town where it arrives; 6 p.m. rally.
