signing of the contract between the United Farm Workers of America
and Threemile Canyon Farms

Dear United Farm Workers of Oregon,
The officers, staff and members of the Oregon AFL-CIO offer our
hearty congratulations to you for reaching your first union contract.
We know how hard you have worked to reach this milestone. We salute
your courage, your persistence, and your creativity on winning this
historic agreement. By joining with your fellow workers to win better
pay and benefits, you are doing your part to make jobs better for
all Oregon workers. For that, we also say thank you.
We are proud to have you as some of the newest members of the Oregon
AFL-CIO. Our coalition of labor unions includes 145,000 working
men and women in Oregon. Your union brothers and sisters are steelworkers,
teachers, nurses, machinists, and much more. Together we work to
make sure that working people are respected on the State Legislature
and in Congress. We look forward to your ideas and energy as active
members of the coalition.
Sobre todo, nos gustaría agradercerles muy sinceramente,
por todo lo que han hecho para mejorar la vida de los obreros de
Oregon. Uds. han trabajado muy duro para realizar este contracto.
