The Senate holds the fate of immigration reform in its hands. The Senate immigration bill is far from perfect, and it will require continued leadership and commitment to improve it - but it is not the end of the line....
The Senate must not deny Americans and farm workers the opportunity to move forward to address this issue - they must produce a bill, and stake their credibility on working with their House colleagues and with conferees to produce the type of reform America needs: one that secures our borders, strengthens our economy and upholds the values of faith, family and hard work that are the cornerstone of our democracy. To abdicate that responsibility now means to condemn our communities to an untenable status quo that is likely to worsen for years to come.
The United Farm Workers of America urges a YES vote on Cloture.
