This bill is crucial for farm workers who face tremendous pressure during a union election campaign. Farm workers have the hardest lives of anyone in our society & they deserve the most effective tool possible to improve their lives. In deciding whether or not to form a union, the majority sign-up process (SB 180) reduces the amount of coercion farm workers must face. Secret ballot elections increase the amount of coercion.  The majority sign-up process (SB 180) therefore results in a more fair and accurate decision. SB 180 gives farm workers the choice to have an election or a majority sign-up process.
